Summer is here and that means it won’t be too long before Marbella residents and visitors can enjoy a fantastic array of musical entertainment, most of it held outdoors. As always, the venues attract diverse types of artists, so that there is something for everyone.
Starlite Festival has more ‘Big Names’ in 2019
The Starlite Festival continues to go from strength to strength and has become one of Spain’s most popular concert events. It takes place over almost the entire summer, with the first concert this year on 5th July, kicking off with Spanish singer Manuel Carrasco. The organisers always manage to offer a mix of famous Spanish artists along with global names such as Sting, John Legend and The Beach Boys. Italy’s Eros Ramazzotti is on the bill too this year, as are Diana Krall, Ben Harper and Jason Derulo.
Concerts at the Puente Romano, Marbella
Another great music venue is the Club de Tenis at the Puente Romano Hotel on Marbella’s Golden Mile. The tennis courts have become a summer favourite for concertgoers and the programme for Summer 2019 promises some great nights out. Many fans are keen to see The Jacksons when they appear on 8th August. Although it may be some years since their greatest hits, the group never fail to attract fans old and new, and on 10th August, former Spandau Ballet lead singer, Tony Hadley, will take to the stage here too. These are the only artists that have been announced so far, but there may be some last minute announcements to come yet.
Marenostrum Music Festival
The Marenostrum Music Festival held in Fuengirola promises a mix of clubland heroes, like Carl Cox, with international acts such as Rod Stewart. It has become such a popular concert brand on the coast that a number of the early summer events, such as Mad urban Fest, are already sold out. So, if you want a ticket, you may have to hope a friend has a spare one.
Enjoy a musical summer in Marbella; there is nothing like live music under the stars on a warm summer’s evening.
