La Cala de Mijas Golf
La Cala Resort is one of the largest and most exclusive resorts in Southern Europe, with three 18-hole golf courses, the only David Leadbetter Golf Academy in Spain and a high standard, par 3, 6-hole golf course. The course designer Cabell B. Robinson, the former European Director of the Robert Trent Jones Organization, took the natural lie of the land into account when creating these three courses. All the courses are carefully maintained to ensure high quality challenges all year round.
Campo Asia is an 18 hole, 5925m long par 72 course, that opened in 1991. Formerly known as the South Course, it is a slightly shorter and tighter course than its neighbour Campo America. It is one of the first golf courses to be built away from the coast and it offers players plenty of challenging holes, guaranteeing a testing round of golf
The Campo America Course, formerly known as the North Course, was built a short time after the South course. It is 250m longer, with wide fairways sporting fewer bunkers than the South course, many of which are joined but also inclined and have wide roughs, making it an easier driving course but one of the most demanding overall on the Costa. The course boasts spectacular views to the Sierra de Ojén and Mediterranean Sea
The third of the championship 18 hole golf courses in La Cala Golf Resort, Campo Europa is a par 71 course opened in March 2005. It covers 100 hectares of land and measures 6014m in length. Although it is a dramatic course it is easier for the average golfer.
