One of the oldest golf courses on the Costa del Sol, Rio Real opened in 1965 and was designed by Spain’s top architect Javier Arana. The golf course runs alongside the Rio Real River, from which it takes its name, and which forms an integral part of the course right up until it reaches the Mediterranean. The fairways are lined with mature and exotic trees and the course follows a gradual incline towards the sea but is otherwise flat. Sheltered by the Sierra Bermeja mountains, Rio Real lends itself to year round golf.
Facilities include a driving range, putting green, one on one pro golf lessons, bar and restaurant and a pro shop.
