Marbella Beach Life

When you live in Marbella, the expression “life’s a beach” has a very real meaning. The coastline is fringed by beaches, from the extraordinary sands of Cabopino and the Artola dunes to the restaurant-lined shores of San Pedro Alcántara. Every beach has its own faithful devotees, who return year in, year out, drawn by particular attractions, whether it is a specific chiringuito beach bar or the fact that water sports are available.

Beach Clubs Marbella
Beach clubs are another major feature of Marbella’s beach life. The Puente Romano’s beach club, as well as that of the Marbella Club Hotel, both located on Marbella’s celebrated Golden Mile, cater for the sophisticated visitor who expects top quality service and amenities. To the east of Marbella, La Cabâne at Los Monteros attracts a similar guest, as does the nearby Beach House restaurant.

Clubs that offer a more ‘party by the pool’ atmosphere include Ocean Club, Plaza Beach and La Sala by the Sea, both within walking distance of Puerto Banús. These are famous for their champagne spray parties and are the haunts of younger celebrities. Nikki Beach, in east Marbella is another club with a party vibe and the fact that it is world famous ensures that it is always popular.

The best beaches in Marbella
Bounty Beach, which is not far from central Marbella is considered one of the coolest beaches, with its neighbour Playa Rio Real also being highly rated for the quality of its sand and impeccable views. If you’re looking for a long, sandy beach then it has to be Playa Alicate, while Playa Hermosa, near El Rosario is another beautiful spot. Mistral Beach, which lies between San Pedro and Puerto Banús has long been a weekend destination for both residents and visitors; it’s one of the best places for people watching, spotting Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Porsches.

At some beaches you are likely to see Spanish families camped out for the entire day, having brought just about everything except the kitchen sink. They even come from as far away as Ronda on a Saturday or Sunday, just to spend the day enjoying the Marbella beach life before returning to the mountains.
